I went to Advanced Auto Tech when I needed work done on my 2009 Volkswagen Jetta and found that the dealer was charging too much. I checked Washington Checkbook for ratings and decided to give them a try on a major cooling system repair. I was very pleased and have since had them perform other needed work and routine service and am very satisfied with the quality and price charged for the work. They keep you informed with text messages, and pictures of what they find along the way. I am glad I found them and will continue to come to Advanced Auto Tech.

Everyone I dealt with was courteous and friendly. However, what was originally quoted to me as a 30 minute appointment turned into an hour and 45 minute wait due to a backlog of waiting customers and adding a safety inspection to finalize my car registration. As a new VA resident, the need for the safety inspection wasn't entirely clear to me and the rationale behind this could have been explained in more detail. Update (2018-01.30) I received a call from a manager who explained the safety inspection in more detail. It seems my concerns about situation were largely due to a lack of information from the Virginia DMV. He clarified the types of inspections that are required and offered me a 10% discount on the price they quoted me to address a problem that caused my car to fail the safety inspection. I had already scheduled an oil change with another shop right by my house, and it included a free safety inspection as part of the service. They noted the same issues as AAT but indicated that (while it was something I should fix as soon as was financially feasible) they didn't feel it was grounds for failing my car. Update (2018-02.22) After receiving several quotes regarding the issues with my car, I took it to a third shop. They double checked to make sure all the issues I mentioned actually needed to be fixed and ultimately came down on the side of the problems being less egregious. However, they wouldn't commit to whether or not they thought my car would pass inspection as it stood.

Great shop, great team! They keep their prices fair. They always do great job and they are fast. Unless you want a moon from the sky, they will accommodate you!
