SERVICE MANAGER - PRESIDENTBen began working as the Service Manager at Advanced Auto Tech in 1999 and he has remained the driving force behind the business’s continued success. With more than 26 years of experience in the automotive industry, Ben has an in-depth understanding of automotive services and repairs.
Ben is an ASE Master Technician, ASE L1 Advanced Level Engine Performance Technician, VA Safety and Emissions Inspector, and an Emissions Repair Technician.
When Ben is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, woodturning, mountain bike riding, home-brewing, and living an overall healthy and active life. Ben enjoys volunteering with his club “The Capital Area Woodturners” where he was elected to serve on the board.
Sisc (Sissy) Johnson
ACCOUNTING & MARKETING - VICE PRESIDENTWith more than 20 years in corporate accounting and auditing, Sisc is responsible for the corporate accounting and daily bookkeeping at Advanced Auto Tech. In addition to her accounting responsibilities, she also manages the corporation’s marketing/advertising and community outreach programs.
Sisc helps keep our business on track by bringing years of solid and extensive business knowledge to our corporation.
When she is not spending time with her family, Sisc’s favorite organization to volunteer with is "The Good News Community Kitchen". In addition to her desire to serve others, Sisc is also a huge animal lover. In her free time Sisc enjoys playing with her 2 Chihuahuas (Coco and Louie), 2 rats (Simon and Garfunkel), and her 2 birds (Sweet Pea and Lil Moma). Sisc also really enjoys sampling good craft beer, the company of great friends, and trying new restaurants
SERVICE WRITERMelissa is typically the first person you meet when you visit us. Melissa is the Service Writer at Advanced Auto Tech. She assists customers with scheduling appointments, processing service requests, and advises customers on recommended service(s). Melissa also schedules work for our technicians and she helps keep the shop flowing.
In addition to other various continuing education training/courses in the automotive field, Melissa successfully completed the Auto 100 course at Northern Virginia Community College, “Automotive Shop Practices”. Melissa joined Advanced Auto Tech as our Service Advisor in September 2013 and she brings years of automotive customer service experience to our team.
Melissa can be found scaling walls and jumping over fires in any number of endurance military-style obstacle courses she competes in throughout our area. She really enjoys staying fit, eating healthily, cooking, and great concerts, but Melissa most loves spending time with her family. Her boys keep her on the go, busy with sports, and full of family fun (and she wouldn’t have it any other way).
SENIOR TECHNICIANMike joined our team in 2007 and he has more than 16 years of automotive repair and service experience. Mike is an ASE Certified Automotive Technician and a VA Safety and Emissions Inspector. He has remained a high level technician since he started in the automotive industry in 2000.
Mike is highly proficient in diagnostic, maintenance, automotive service, and repair work. Mike really enjoys mentoring young professionals by sharing his knowledge of automotive teaching and assisting them with hands-on-learning.
Motorcycles and sports are just a few of Mike’s hobbies. Mike likes attending baseball, hockey, and football games (or watching them on TV). When he is not working or at a sporting event, he can be found hanging out with his close friends or spending time with his Mom. Mike has a passion for cooking and he really enjoys experimenting with food.
SENIOR TECHNICIANWith more than 35 years of automotive service and repair experience, Jim has seen first-hand the evolution of cars! He began his career in 1981 and he is highly proficient in diagnostic, maintenance, automotive service, and repair work.
Jim is an ASE Certified Technician, a VA Safety & Emissions Inspector, and Emissions Repair Technician. Jim shares his decades of knowledge with our young professionals to help enable their professional growth.
Jim can typically be found (with his son) bracket racing fast cars at any local speedway. When he is not racing, Jim enjoys riding his Harley on scenic road trips, watching sporting events, or hanging out with his children.
GENERAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN / FACILITY MANAGERBrian is our VA Safety and Emissions Inspector and General Service Technician. As a GST Brian provides general services for vehicle maintenance and repair, such as fluid exchanges, tire rotation/replacement, brakes, alignments, battery services, etc., and under the guidance of experienced technicians, he assists in more complex vehicle repairs.
In addition to his automotive responsibilities, Brian also serves as our Facility Manager. He is responsible for ensuring that our facility is properly organized and fully operational. He assists in maintaining the shop's appearance and safety standards to ensure the shop runs in an efficient manner.
Bowling is Brian’s sport and it is one he takes seriously. Brian is an avid bowler and in his “spare” time, he can be found at a bowling alley near you. In addition to bowling Brian really enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and their pets (especially his cats). He also enjoys eating out and spending time with family and friends
GENERAL SERVICE TECHNICIANSovanna began his automotive career in 2008. He is a Hunter Certified Alignment Technician with over 8 years of general service and repair experience in the automotive industry. Sovanna provides general services for vehicle maintenance and repair, such as fluid exchanges, tire rotation/replacement, brakes, alignments, battery services, etc., and under the guidance of experienced technicians, he assists in more complex vehicle repairs.
In addition to his automotive responsibilities, Sovanna also helps to ensure that our facilities are properly organized and fully operational. He assists the Facility Manager in maintaining the shops appearance and safety standards to ensure the shop runs in an efficient manner.
